Koh Russei is one of a group of small islands located about 10 km from the port city of Preah Sihanouk, in southern Cambodia. This island is a green, gilt-edged crescent, resting on emerald or blue water and it is really a jewel of a beach with fine pink or ochre sand and mysterious forest. For those loving the sun falling into the sea whilst surrounded by jungle sounds, Koh Russei is the place.
Most travelers discover the place on one of the ubiquitous Three Island boat tours which all go to the same islands (Koh Ta Kiev, Koh Craloh, and Koh Russei) for mediocre snorkeling and a great seafood lunch. Once they've seen Koh Russei, many travelers want to come back and stay a while, and for those who have – or make – the time to stay here, it's often an unexpected highlight of their travels in Cambodia. You can reach Koh Russei by private boat for US$5 per person.
